Stop child abuse
Child abuse is going too far in this world that it’s time for it to stop, actually it should’ve never started in the first place. Every 13 seconds a child is abused. Everyday 5 children die from child abuse. Every 10 seconds a report of child abuse was made. For a child that has been a victim of child abuse they have a 14.1% that they’re going to be abused again within 6 months. The children that have survived child abuse are in the risk of violent behavior or becoming criminals when they are adults. Child victims are 59% more likely to be arrested as juveniles, 30% more likely to be arrested for violent crimes in adulthood and 33% more likely to abuse drugs. In 2005, 899,000 children in the US were victims of child abuse, neglect and maltreatment: 90% suffered neglect, 3.6% suffered medical neglect, 13% were physically abused, 4% were sexually abused and 1% was psychologically mistreated. The child victimization rate rose from 11.1/per 1,000 children in 2002 to 11.9/per 1,000 in 2003. 16.4% of these victims were under age 3 years, 48% were male children and 52% were females. 54% of the children were Caucasian, 26% African-American, 12% Hispanic and 8% Other/Unknown. The state of New York had 42,641 reports of child abuse, neglect and maltreatment in 2005. That’s about 14 of every 1,000 children in the state. As you can see by these statistics that child abuse happens frequently, and these are old facts. Imagine now 6 years after when people have been more violent than before what are the statistics now? Child abuse can happen anywhere and anytime.
